Not the best picture, but I finally got a shot of one of my favorite girls! This is Roni, and she is a fossa - one of the coolest species EVER :D

Edit: Fossas (pronounced foo-sa or fas-sa) are related to mongooses and are Madagascar's top predator. They are extremely agile, as they must be to hunt their main food source - lemurs. Like lemurs, they are an endangered species with an estimated less than 2500 left in the wild and very few, relatively speaking (I believe 50-60 individuals in the US - but I'm not positive).

I've never seen one of these, and I'm an animal nut. This is truly an awesome species. BTW your watermark is simply awesome! I just noticed it while I was typing. I LOVE classy watermarks. I have the way so much art is ruined by dA's advertising itself, plastered all over people's work. That is so self serving to dA and such a disservice to the artists they are purporting to "protect" with that damn dA watermark.
